A small business operations consultant for the work behind your numbers.
GuildHall is a small business operations consultant. We look at how work moves from one person and one system to the next, address the gaps that slow it down, and set up reports built on your own data.
At a glance.
- What it is: hands-on operations help: we map how work moves through the business, change the setup in your existing tools within an agreed scope, and report on the result.
- Who it is for: small businesses where the work runs through a few people and several systems.
- How it starts: a free 30-minute call, then an optional $500 Quick Win or monthly support from $500.
- Where: based in Kansas City, working remotely with small businesses across the United States.
What does an operations consultant do for a small business?
We follow one piece of work from start to finish, for example a quote that becomes a job and then an invoice. Along the way we note where it waits, where someone types the same thing twice and where the records stop matching.
Then we agree with you what to change first. We make the change in the tools you already use, within the scope we agree, and we document how it works. If a change is beyond our scope, we say so and agree who handles it before we start.
Last, we set up a simple report so you can see what changed. Operations work and reporting go together: a report is only as good as the records behind it.
Who it is for.
Owners of small businesses where the work runs through a few people and several systems. Our industry pages show illustrative examples for home services, clinics, law and accounting, restaurants and salons.
It tends to fit when you see signs like these:
- The same weekly numbers are typed by hand from two or three places.
- Finished work sits for days before it is billed.
- Only one person knows how the systems fit together.
- You pay for software that nobody has set up properly.
How we work with you.
We work in your own accounts and on your own data. No software vendor pays us, so any advice about tools is about fit. We use AI only for steps where it saves real time.
Kyle Haworth leads the work from Kansas City. We work remotely with small businesses across the United States, with local meetings by arrangement.
How it starts, and what it costs.
A free 30-minute call, then an optional $500 Quick Win or monthly support from $500.
On the call we talk about the business, the systems you use and what is getting in the way. If a first piece of work makes sense, the Quick Win covers one agreed problem for a one-time $500 fee. Half the Quick Win fee, $250, comes off your first month if you go on to monthly support.
Monthly support starts at $500 and scales with the scope we agree in your proposal. It runs month to month, with 30 days’ written notice to end it. You can also begin with monthly support and skip the Quick Win.
Questions owners ask.
How is an operations consultant different from a business coach?
A coach mostly helps you think through decisions. We also do hands-on work: we map how a job moves through the business, change the setup in your existing tools within the agreed scope, and build the reports that show what changed.
Do we need new software?
Usually not to begin. We start with the systems you already pay for and what they can export. If a new tool would genuinely help, we say why, and the choice stays yours.
How long does the work take?
The Quick Win is built around one problem with a defined finish line, agreed before work starts. Larger changes are scoped in your proposal, so the timing depends on the work and on your systems.
Do you work with businesses outside Kansas City?
Yes. GuildHall is based in Kansas City and works remotely with small businesses across the United States.
